Mission

The mission of EDUCATION 411 is to help promote informed discussion about Westwood’s public schools. We aim to celebrate Westwood’s long tradition of educational excellence and to ensure, in a non-partisan manner, that citizens are fully informed about the issues facing Westwood’s public schools today and in the future.

History

The Finance Commission’s Education Subcommittee 2006 Report observed that Westwood would continue to face financial challenges and that those challenges would require the attention not only of town leaders but also of the town’s citizens. The Subcommittee closed its report by stating: “We urge the citizens of our Town to be actively involved in this process so that they may collectively determine Westwood’s priorities.”

In the spirit of fostering active community involvement in educational issues, we formed Education411 in the summer of 2006.
